Skating Party

Southampton Academy sponsored a Skating Party in Franklin Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours. It was for any K-3rd Grade children.

Corey is getting his skates....

He has only skated at a few Birthday parties......I think he is doing so much better......

Corey & Blake are really good buddies at school

I think it was about 60 kids that came to skate

Corey had so much fun he wants to have his Birthday party there in March

I think they all hated when it was time to go.......

A bunch of parents were having a good time too......(like Mary....but shh.....don't tell her I took pictures of her skating....)

It was really a nice event.......where families could just get together and have fun......

I'm really glad we went!

What happened to the SNOW????

Well......we were so excited about the snow coming that we stocked up on all the necessities.....you know.....ice-cream, chips, Diet Dr. Pepper, Mt. Dew and all kinds of other snacks......oh....and of course meats that we can cook on the grill in case the power goes out......Corey got his snow-suit, hat, gloves, boots, extra socks all together before he went to bed so he would be ready to get out in it early this morning.......Well.......I got up at 5:30....ran to the window.........saw NOTHING..........so I went to the back door.......still couldn't see any snow.......so........I started wondering then if Corey would have school and would I go to work after all........I finally saw school was cancelled about 6:30........still no snow.......so I called Heather at 7:30.......it had finally started to SNOW........she said to come on in.........So......I dropped Corey off at Grandma's and went to work.......she called the parents and informed them we would be closing at 12:30.......only to feel guilty because by the time 12:30 had gotten here the snow had stopped and what little bit had accumulated on our cars had all melted away.......OK......so NOW they are saying we're going to get some tonight........but I for one will believe it when I see it.......Corey is really hoping for another snow day........

Corey & I went to Wal-Mart for a while this afternoon......and in a little while we'll be going to my mama's for some chili.....Yum!!!!

So.....Do you think the snow is over or what?

Weekend Recap

Friday when I got off work, Corey & I went to Napoli's and met Kelly, Allysa, Camryn & Logan. The kids were a bit 'busy' to say the least but we had a good time just spending time with them.

Saturday I woke up not feeling too well but decided to go to Crystal's jewelry party anyway......it was a lot of fun and Melissa does such a good job presenting the jewelry......then I came home....cooked supper for Colin, dropped Corey off at Grandmas and I was off to another....that's right....ANOTHER jewelry party at Kathe's.........it was so much fun........I love doing things with my friends.......and guess what.......Kelly & Cathy booked a party.........and when I got home I got another invitation to another friend's jewelry party for this weekend.......and you know the funny thing is.....I DON"T EVEN WEAR JEWELRY.........I guess I will now........

Sunday I was really feeling YUK so I didn't even go to church........We went to my parents for lunch then Corey & I were off to a Cub Scout meeting at Galatia Baptist Church.......we got alot accomplished.......I'm really glad I didn't cancel it........I came home....took some NyQuil and went to bed.........I'm really thankful I had today off..........this cold (or whatever it is) has really kicked in hard today.........

But even though I'm not feeling to well I'm really glad to be at home with Corey........we are watching for the snow........

Corey's Report Card

Corey got his Report Card Tuesday and I am so proud of him

He did go down in Reading this time but hopefully he will be able to bring it back up ....we'll see!

I am already having some anxiety about a 4th grade project next year.....Isn't that CRAZY???.........I have literally been worrying about a Virginia Scrapbook they have to put together..........any suggestions or ideas about Virginia History I would gladly accept!

I think I'm going to try to collect brochures & pictures over the summer........maybe even take a little trip or two........I would LOVE to have 'real' pictures of Corey at some of the places if I can just figure out what some of the places are.......

First Day at Work!

Well I started working at Building Blocks Academy yesterday and it went really well......I had been a little anxious about it all and even called Kelly yesterday morning pouting about it (you are SUCH a good friend Kelly) and she ALWAYS makes me feel better about things.....I think I was really feeling awkward about working for someone else when I've been 'the boss' for so long now.......But.....I went in and I was working in a class with a friend of mine that I use to work at Ahoskie Methodist Daycare with so that was alot of fun in itself.......we had 9 one year old's....two of which was their first day there as well so we had quite an adventure.......but all-in-all it was a great day......I'm actually looking forward to going back today....but BOY am I so TIRED!...One-year Olds are sure busy...Hey....maybe I'll loose some weight after all.......And I do really appreciate Heather letting me do this until I can find something......
