Job Update

Well..........you know how I said after Christmas when Corey went back to school I was really going to get serious and look for a job?......well.......what happened?.........is it THAT time already?..........How depressing!

I really had a hard time Monday sending Corey back to school........I think I enjoyed spending the 2 weeks of Christmas with him more than any other time........I'll tell you how bad it was......I have spent THREE days really considering Home-Schooling him next year..........I would Love having him with me all the time but realistically I just don't think it would be fair to him......he is such a social child.....he loves doing all the extra stuff at his school that he wouldn't get at home......and frankly.........I am just not organized enough or disciplined enough to keep a routine going with the school work......So...........I have until March to decide......(that's when I will have to sign a new contract for next school year).......and on the other side..........I went to a PTO board meeting at school yesterday afternoon (I'm Secretary for that)
and just hearing all the plans for the spring and things going on at school really made me think about how much I really do LOVE that school......so..........who knows?

So.....back to the job thing..........I'm going to start Monday temporarily at Building Blocks Academy........remember me saying I never wanted to go back to daycare?........and after 18 years of Daycare I wanted to do something different?........But I do love those kids.........and I can honestly say I have really missed working with children and watching them grow and experience new things.......but I will still be looking for something else..........I'm not much for job jumping.........(Obviously)........but Heather knows from the start I'm looking for secretarial/bookkeeping/receptionist type of thing......but at least it will be SOMETHING until I can do different and it will help her out as well........I really appreciate her letting me do this.........
But if any of you out there know of anything PLEASE let me know!

Have a Great Wednesday!

I know with the economy the way it is, finding a job must be very difficult. But I pray that you will find something you love! However, if you are really considering homeschooling you should give me a call. This is our first year, and as long as I don't have to get a job next year, we'll be doing it again. We love it! And as far as extra things, and socializing...we joined a homeschool group and a homeschool
4-H group. So we go on at least one field trip a month, and do something with 4-H at least once a month. Plus our group started a Relay 4 Life team, so we stay really busy. And with church, dance, basketball, and soccer, the girls get plenty of time with other kids. Just a thought!

Hang in there Shari! Like Donielle said, with the economy the way it is, there's just not much out there to choose from right now. I pray you'll hear about that "great job" soon! From what I've read on your blog, it looks like you've done a great job with Corey, so I know you'll do great with the kids at daycare. Just think of all the lessons and love you have to offer and all those kids who need it!

Something will come up soon! You may realize how much you have missed the (daycare) job.

It will happen for you, I know it will. Until then, I wish you the best at Building Blocks, I know you will be great there.

Just remember that you never know when an opportunity will arise. Don't look at going to Building Blocks as a step backwards, it may lead to something else. As always, I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for you! Love ya!

Building blocks is just what it is a building block, till you can find what you really want. Good Luck with your new job!

That's wonderful that you have found something even though it's not what you want. I know you'll enjoy the kids and like everyone else said...look at as opportunity for another opportunity! Good luck with your new job!

This might be the step you need...making contacts and getting word out there that you are looking for something different. I wish you much luck!

It is very tough out there right now. Any job you get you should be lucky to have. Have Faith! Something good will come your way.

Shari-My sister-in-law, Amy just texted me and said that Citi Financial in Ahoskie is hiring and said to spread the word. If you think you might be interested, email me (charlieandmandy@hughes.net) and I will give you some contact information for her so she can tell you more!
